Monthly tournament

A great tournament yesterday. Lots of exciting games with plenty of rallyes. In fact, the rallyes were so long that we only managed to play four rounds. Or maybe we should start a bit earlier next time...

Guillem and Nigel, who was making his debut, both won all their games, but Guillem won his games just a little bit more convincingly. So first blood for Guillem. Panayotis was another debutant who made an immediate impact with a splendid third place.

Last year's winner, Gabriele, and runner up, Marc, made a dreadful start to their campaign, finishing in 16th and 17th place, respectively.

Ewa was the only player to lose all her games, but they were mainly in close games. Both Simon and Lucie won one game but they were involved in some heavy losses and they shared last place.

IVC ranking

The algorithm uses the IVC ("It's Very Complicated") for the team selection. This ranking is based on the average score over all tournaments (including last year's), with older results counting as less important.

After yesterday's win, Guillem also has the highest ranking, taking over the top position from Gabriele. Players marked with a star still appear in the ranking even though they are unlikely to play this year.
