Club England Enhanced Environment clubs
Whilst the Regional Talent Development Programme (RTDP) provides a monthly high quality environment for players once they have been identified it is also recognised that the ongoing (weekly) development of these players and others aspiring to this level is equally important.
Much of the work of the RTDP is underpinned by a number of high quality clubs in each region who specialise in delivering a weekly training environment for young players. Regional Associations were requested to identify and nominate a maximum of eight (4 girls/4 boys) networked high quality club environments in the region that meet minimum criteria for selection that include previous/current performance, links to the delivery system and equity profile. Where appropriate a single club may be nominated for two awards should they score highly for both girls and boys. Each award is worth £600 per year and will be reviewed on an annual basis. Volleyball England believes that these clubs will focus these awards on providing an enhanced club environment that may include; additional facility hire, specialist equipment and the use of other support services.
In the EAST the nominated clubs are:
Brentwood/Boswells VC (Boys/Girls)
Tendring VC (Boys/Girls)
Cambridge VC (Boys/Girls)
Newmarket VC (Boys/Girls)
Following an open invitation across the region to apply, several specific enhanced club environments are being established as 'Club England' centres including funding for coach scholarships as follows
- Brentwood/Boswells - Coach scholarship Brendan Osborne
- Tendring - Coach scholarship Sebastian Widlarz
- Cambridge - Coach Scholarship Jean Jaquet
- Newmarket - Coach Scholarship, to be confirmed
